Zounds Hearing Enters Moorestown and Announces
$225,000 Hearing Partnership with Twilight Wish Foundation

Local Favorite, Vince Papale, to Sign Autographs at Hearing Center Opening

Moorestown, N.J. – March 6, 2008 – Zounds Hearing, a unique manufacturing and retail company focused on providing hearing aids with state-of-the-art fidelity, price point and professional service, opened its doors recently in the Moorestown Mall. In addition, Zounds CEO, John Costello, announced a historic partnership with Twilight Wish Foundation consisting of a $225,000 sponsorship package.  Twilight Wish is a locally based charity dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors across the country by making their dreams come true.

Years ago, Zounds Founder Sam Thomasson, promised his hearing-impaired daughter that he would create a new hearing aid to overcome her annoyance with her aids due to excessive feedback, poor sound quality and discomfort in the ear.  That promise led him to create the technology behind Zounds and raise the necessary funds to expand nationally, including Moorestown, the company’s third regional location.

“Moorestown and Burlington County are full of fantastic people and businesses and we’re glad to be part of this close community,” said Costello.  “As many know, getting a hearing aid can be a very personal experience. Zounds’ Hearing Centers and licensed professionals are designed and trained specifically to cater to that personalized service and convenience customers expect.”

Twilight Wish and Zounds Partnership –
As part of the company’s dedication to the senior community both locally and nationally, Zounds announced the largest donation of hearing aids to the Twilight Wish Foundation.  The donation, the first-of-its kind, will help Twilight Wish honor hearing aid wishes across the country – a popular, yet substantial wish since the charity’s opening five years ago.

“The dedication Zounds has to the senior community, locally and across the country, is refreshing and honorable,” said Cass Forkin.  “Both Zounds and Twilight Wish are aligned to the same overall mission: enhancing the quality of life of seniors.  We are excited at the large donation and hope for a long-term partnership.”

“The partnership with Twilight Wish allows Zounds to enhance the lives of seniors who can’t afford hearing aids,” said Costello.  “It is something the company and I take very seriously, and we’re happy to partner with such an organization.”

Hearing Center Honors Wishes and Local Sports Hero –
The grand opening festivities start at 11:00 a.m. EST, Thursday, March 6 at the Zounds Hearing Center in Moorestown Mall, in the Boscov’s wing.

Zounds’ Moorestown location will honor two Twilight Wish requests from local seniors who cannot afford hearing aids.  A World War II veteran and a lifelong sufferer of hearing loss will both receive hearing aids to help them experience their lives to the fullest.

In the spirit of wishes and indomitable spirit, Vince Papale, former Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver, local resident and inspiration for the movie, “Invincible,” will be available to sign autographs, take photos and meet fans and customers.

Growing Hearing Loss – Burlington County –
According to a MarkeTrack survey by the Better Hearing Institute, hearing loss affects about 10 percent of the U.S. population, while three in 10 people above age 60 are affected by hearing loss.  In Burlington County, this means more than 42,000 people are likely affected by hearing loss based on recent census data.  However, only 20 percent of those that need hearing aids actually wear them.

Zounds hearing aids are based on three distinct technology and design innovations:
1. Enhanced noise cancellation that eliminates up to 90 percent of background noise for exceptional voice clarity and enhanced feedback cancellation that virtually eliminates the squealing that traditional aids are known for. The revolutionary hearing aids are also rechargeable and come with a remote control to fine tune one’s listening experiences throughout the day or night.

2. It takes less than two hours to test, fit, and program by a licensed professional rather than the weeks needed for traditional aids, as well as rechargeable aids that eliminate the need to buy/replace tiny batteries.

3.  The streamlined design also allows Zounds to charge half the price of current premium hearing aids: One aid costs $1,299, and a pair costs $2,499 (simple financing is available).
