#8: Accurate Programming
Current Hearing Aids
Today, testing someone's hearing loss and programming hearing aids are more art than science, with small, confining and uncomfortable sound booths. Furthermore, software which does not take into account the accoustical properties of an individuals ear anatomy may result in translation errors during the hearing exam, resulting in incorrectly programmed hearing aids.
As a result, today’s hearing aids may not be programmed to your exact hearing loss, which means you may need to make additional visits for programming “tweaks” after you initially receive your hearing aids. It may take you 3 to 4 weeks to order and program your hearing aids and you still may not be satisfied with the result.
Zounds Difference
Zounds has revolutionized the hearing test and programming process. For starters, we test your hearing in spacious and comfortable Hearing Test Suites as well as test your hearing with our own proprietary testing, fitting and programming software with internally developed algorithms.
Because the testing, fitting and programming are conducted with Zounds developed software and take into account each individuals ear anatomy and accoustical properties, we program your hearing aids at all 16 frequency bands, just like the way your cochlea processes natural sound. The result is an accurately programmed hearing aid, where no translation errors have occurred, which means you can expect fewer return visits.
*Some states may require a sound proof booth.
